Mission Statement

Palouse Industries will provide education, training, and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities residing in Whitman and Latah Counties in order to assist them to attain their highest possible socioeconomic level in the community.

Purpose Statement

Palouse Industries serves as a model for areas businesses and service providers to see children and adults with special needs as contributing members of our society. Ideally, Palouse Industries strives for the day when supports will be available in each preschool, business, public agency, and charitable organization that would sufficiently serve the needs of people with disabilities. Until then we are at the service of our community, state, local municipalities and families.

Admission Requirements for Family Support

Palouse Industries' offers family support services through its Young Children and Family Programs of the Palouse (YCFP). YCFP offers home visiting and group-based parenting programs for families in Latah and Whitman Counties. Two prominent programs offered to interested families include:

We encourage families to inquire about space availability and upcoming class schedule. As a general eligibility rule, the following conditions apply:

  1. You must be a resident of either Latah or Whitman Counties.
  2. Your child must be between birth to five years-old to qualify for our Ages and Stages program
  3. Parents as Teachers home visits for families with children ages birth to 3 years
  4. Nurturing Parenting home visiting for families with children ages birth to 5 years
  5. Parenting the Strong-Willed Child home visiting for families with children ages 3-6 years
  6. Nurturing Parenting group classes and self-instructional model for families with preschool-age children
  7. Strengthening Families group classes for families with children ages 10 to 14 years
